‘Aranya’ Fluid Art with Silicone, Gold leaf and black brush pen. Aranya means wild forest, it signifies fertility, abundance, plentiful, greenery and generosity! A great name for these paintings, my husband thinks they remind him of psychedelic patterns and shapes… but I am far too young to remember the 60’s in any such detail!
If ever I had to make paintings work, its these. But I had a picture in my head and to be honest they are not too far off that illusive imaginary image. Still drawing inspiration from the artist Hunderwasser (who was born in Austria not Germany), these paintings depict very wacky landscapes from some bizarre fantasy land…but then so do Hunderwasser’s landscapes. However, I scrapped one and had to pull out every trick up my sleeve to make these two work. I guess I am willing to fling any medium and any technique at a canvas to make it work, and if that makes me a ‘mixed media artist’, then I am just fine with that!
