Peonies by Julie Vatcher. These are my favourite flowers but for some reason, I never seem to be able to grow them successfully! I wanted a set of bright, bold and colourful paintings that combined fluid art and thick impasto brushwork.  This one is the second in a set of 4, using bold turquoise backgrounds with rich 24K gold paint to give a ‘sumptuous’ look.
